Moving

Moving can be incredibly disorienting. It disrupts routines, has us dealing with everything big and little in our home or office, requires old accounts to be closed and new ones set up, involves scheduling people to pack, transfer, unload, repair…and all of that takes us away from what we normally do to make money, care for ourselves and our loved ones, have fun, and relax.

Meck Organizing provides full service move management to support clients through the difficult process of relocating, doing as much or as little as clients find needed. Popular support includes assisting clients in determining what to take the new place and what to part with, then following through on those decisions; hiring and supervising movers; collaborating with realtors, interior designers, general contractors and specialty teams, building and landscape architects, personal assistants, more; prepping both residences for move-out and move-in; unpacking and organizing; switching over accounts; booking and managing electricians, AV and IT teams, housekeepers, gardeners, other service providers; and many other factors involved in moves.

Clients save time, money and energy by being freed up to continue their lives as uninterrupted as possible despite their change in address. Less stress, less mess, and an accelerated way to making the new space feel like home.

“Organized Move” is Not An Oxymoron

Moving is a fabulous time to reflect on what stuff and systems have a positive contribution to our lives and what don’t. It requires time, money and energy to move anything from a stack of take-out menus to a refrigerator. Thus, in moving, pausing to consider how much further investment we want to make to keep any item is a worthwhile exercise. Additionally, as old accounts are shut down, new accounts are set up, old items are relocated, and new items are required, it’s a perfect time to look into better rate plans, address lingering household or office needs, and implement more effective and enjoyable habits and routines.

Meck Organizing supports clients through this process with a customized move plan that captures all the “moving parts” and clarifies what party is handling what and when.

To ensure clients don’t pay to move things they don’t love and use, Meck Organizing team members support clients through the review and decision making process, helping to follow through on items going to the new location or to donation, sale, bulk trash, recycling, or a specific person or organization.

Some moves require just two men and a truck…others require collaboration with international transfer companies, business offices, realtors, interior designers, general contractors, specialty teams, and more. Meck Organizing serves as an extension of the client, providing a point of contact for the parties involved and taking care of things that need taken care of with an emphasis on timeliness, team work, clear communication, and positivity.

In saying goodbye to one space and hello to the next, there is a considerable adjustment period. Having things unpacked and organized in a way that feels comfortable and makes sense to the client is a super way to accelerate that shift and get them back to living and working productively and happily. Meck Organizing works with clients to map out how things should look and function in the new space. Team members do the physical work to arrange things according to that plan so clients lives can “return to normal” as quickly as possible in their new smartly organized space.

Major Life Events

Moves happen for all sorts of good and not so good reasons. Relocating is inherently disorienting, more so when it is not a welcomed change. Meck Organizing recognizes that each move is unique and each individual is unique. Tricky family dynamics, differing opinions among staff, grief from death of a loved one, depression from a job loss, resisting the idea of live-in care, and other real and extremely sensitive factors are important to take into account when planning and executing a move.

Meck Organizing works with its relocation clients to stay on course despite any rough waters encountered. Through providing encouragement, expert advice, and physical work, its team members support those feeling the emotional drain and physical strain of the move. A change in address can be especially taxing on the elderly, certainly if they are in the position of reviewing a lifetime’s acquirement of items as part of transitioning to an assisted living facility. Moves go such more smoother if all parties involved feel they are heard, understood, and respected. Meck Organizing strives to ensure this is the case for every project it takes on.
